Marie Bogillot et Concours Général des Lycées

Following the outstanding results achieved by our students on the French Baccalaureate, the International Baccalaureate, and the Brevet, we are delighted to share another exceptional accomplishment.

We are proud to announce that Class of 2026 graduate Marie Bogillot has received an Honorable Mention in the highly prestigious Concours Général des Lycées in the Economic and Social Sciences category.

The Concours Général is a prestigious French academic competition that evaluates the top students through highly demanding exams. It is extremely selective: out of more than 23,000 candidates competing each year, only about 145 awards for excellence are granted nationwide. Nominated by their teachers, the selected candidates face highly demanding exams to earn an honor that is purely symbolic but highly valued for their future studies.

In Economics and Social Sciences, the challenge is aimed at seniors, who must write a 6-hour essay without any reference materials. This elite exam requires a perfect command of the concepts and curriculum covered in the junior and senior years, starting from a blank page. This year’s exam topic was: “Political engagement in the functioning of democratic societies.”

Marie is the only student in North America to be recognized in this exceptionally selective national competition.

Congratulations to Marie on this extraordinary honor, and to her teacher, Emmanuelle Simon-Ledoux, whose outstanding guidance and instruction helped make this achievement possible.
