FLL 6th, 7th & 8th Grade
FLL Robotics Prep. Team
Grades 6th, 7th & 8th
Towards the end of an exhilarating rookie FLL Competitive Robotics season, we are very pleased to re-open registrations for a Spring Practice Robotics Team. The Spring Practice Team will learn about robot design options and EV3 programming skills, working on incomplete missions from the fall season as well as new and exciting missions. Returning members will work on developing their programming techniques. This team will be coached by FASNY coaches, Mrs. Khan and Mme. Depayre.
For those of you new to FLL Robotics, FLL is a competitive robotics platform at which students are encouraged to be creative and solve real world problems by participating in a Robotics Challenge. In addition to a research project, the team builds a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robot, and programs it to run missions on a themed table top playing field. The competitive season runs from Sept - Feb every year.
We will be offering registration priority to returning members as well as 8th grade students, for whom this will be the last opportunity to participate in FLL Robotics. If interested, please complete the commitment form below prior to Wednesday, Dec 17th. In case of high demand, team registrations will take place based on prior EV3 experience and ability as demonstrated by grades in Computer Science Class. We will email you a confirmation and provide a link to pay by Jan 7th.
6th grade students also have the option of joining the Recreational Robotics Clubs (4,5,6th grade), which will be meeting from 2:50-3:50pm.
Season dates: Feb 27th - June 11th
Meeting day: Thursdays, 3:40pm - 4:40pm
Fees: $350 (non refundable)
