College Counseling

College counseling at FASNY begins in 10th grade, when counselors meet with each family individually to discuss students’ French Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate program choices and a plan of action for college admissions and testing.
In 11th grade, counselors meet frequently with individual students in the winter and spring and offer application workshops towards the end of the year.

Events

Throughout the year, the College Office offers a range of evening presentations and other events tailored to each grade level. Every year our office invites representatives from 60+ colleges and universities from the US, Canada, and Europe to hold information sessions at FASNY for groups of interested students.

Our Process

We demystify the application process, serving as a knowledgeable resource for students applying to colleges and universities in North America, Europe, and beyond. We work to match each student with colleges that both fit the student’s individual needs and provide an atmosphere where he or she will thrive personally and intellectually. The college planning process is highly individualized at FASNY as we nurture students’ diverse interests and goals. As a small school, we are able to work very closely with FASNY families, making the college admissions process a highly personal one that inspires students about their exciting prospects for the future.

Our Team

Counselors and teaching faculty write strong and detailed letters of recommendation for students as we get to know our students very well. In short, FASNY’s college counseling team empowers students as they make important educational plans for their future beyond FASNY.
