Sixteen students, most of them freshmen, performed exceptionally well in the finals of the Independent Schools Athletic League (ISAL) track-and-field championships, held on May 8 in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
The girls obtained silver and bronze medals in the 4-x-100-meter and 4-x-400-meter relays, respectively, while ninth grader Nana Konfourou took home the gold in the triple-jump event, missing qualification for the state finals by a mere four inches. The boys secured fourth-place finishes in both the 4-x-100-meter relay and triple-jump event.
The team's exceptional performance at this meet and their majority-freshmen composition bode well for the future. Congratulations to all the student-athletes on a job well done!
