On January 25, around 30 students in the fourth and fifth grades cleaned up the playground and perimeter of the Village campus in a volunteer activity organized in the spirit of the Martin Luther King holiday, recognized as a national day of service.
"They love doing activities such as this," said Lesia Massat, the Student Council coordinator for grades 4 and 5. "Fourth and fifth graders are now helping the high school students with their Midnight Run by collecting toiletries. We already have four big boxes full of travel-size items."
Next week, during recess, fourth and fifth graders will be making Valentine's Day cards for the elderly residents of the Sarah Neuman Center in Mamaroneck.
