In All Things, Give Thanks

In All Things, Give Thanks

Last week, FASNY marked Thanksgiving with two cherished school traditions. On Tuesday, members of the PTA prepared and served a delicious meal for the students, faculty, and staff of all three campuses. The appreciative diners enjoyed home-cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and more. Thank you, parents!

On Thanksgiving Day itself, at the Village campus, the school hosted its annual Thanksgiving luncheon—now in its 11th year—for underserved populations in the local community, including the elderly, the homeless, migrant workers, and low-income families. "We had about 150 guests come through the doors and served 300 meals," noted Anita Giordano, FASNY's community service coordinator. "The adults went home with leftovers and the children with goody bags. It's always a lot of work but, in the end, worth it!" We extend our gratitude to all the students, parents, alumni, and parents of alumni who cooked, served, and helped out in other ways at this event.
