Students on all three campuses marked Earth Week 2019 with a variety of events and activities.
Members of the high school's Green Club spearheaded a campaign to raise awareness about personal habits that are harmful to the environment and what we can do to change them. They placed placards on trees around the Harbor campus, encouraging the community to reduce their use of paper, bring reusable water bottles to school, and carpool or ride their bikes. Students will wrap up the week by participating in Saturday's cleanup of the Hommocks Conservation Area in Mamaroneck.
On the Village campus, sixth graders presented projects on ocean pollution, focusing in particular on the detrimental effects of plastic, and at the Endangered Species Zoo. At the lower school, second and third graders collected litter from the Manor campus grounds, sorted it for recycling, and even hugged a tree or two.
