Clément Mihailescu and Antoine Pourchet, both of whom graduated from FASNY in 2012, are the second-prize winners of this year's French-American Entrepreneurship Award (FAEA) competition.
They won for AlgoExpert, an online platform that helps prospective software engineers prepare for algorithm-intensive coding interviews, the kind commonly conducted by large tech companies and startups. Clément is the CEO and Antoine the CTO of AlgoExpert, which they co-founded in 2017 when the former was preparing for interviews at Google. As one of four semifinalists in the FAEA competition, Clément and Antoine presented their company to a jury of French-American executives, who ultimately selected a first- and a second-place winner from the group.
A FASNY "lifer," Clément attended the school from nursery through grade 12. He went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and is currently a software engineer at Google. After completing middle and high school at FASNY, Antoine received his bachelor's degree in computer science from Cornell. Post-graduation, he worked at a small startup before moving on to Uber, where he is now a software engineer.
The FAEA is an annual competition for startups. Established in 2008, its goal is to help young French-American entrepreneurs launch their business ventures in the United States and to provide them with guidance from experienced business leaders.
