Philosophy
Pre-School at FASNY is, for many students, the first exposure to a second language. Housed in FASNY’s Scarsdale Campus, our Pre-School students benefit from their own location and plenty of outdoor recreation space. The FASNY full day Pre-School program is designed to stimulate curiosity, promote creative thinking, and develop social skills in a caring and nurturing environment. Language acquisition is at the heart of FASNY's preschool program. In First Grade, reading is taught first in French and only later that year in English. Much of the preschool curriculum is taught in French in order to establish the strong language base needed for the reading process. Language development in both French and English is an integral part of all academic, motor, social, and artistic activities, and is emphasized in all of the preschool skills taught.
