The Financial Aid Campaign 2013-2014 is now open.
Families can qualify for need-based financial aid through two sources:
The School offers aid, from Grades N-12, to children of all nationalities, however, grants are limited to 50 percent of tuition fees. French nationals must also apply for AEFE's aid to be qualified for any aid from the School. Countries other than France may offer aid to their citizens. Check with your consulate for further information. Applications for School aid are now available online on our website.
Individual requests for reduced tuition are awarded on the basis of demonstrated need. Aid also may be granted to current students based on other criteria, which includes, but is not limited to, academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, and good citizenship.
Reduced tuition rates ensure that FASNY retains students from families who would otherwise have left the school due to inability to pay full tuition. The Board constantly seeks to strike the proper balance between sound financial policy and economic diversity.
There are three sources of funds for school financial aid Budget: In 2012-2013, the school has allocated $ 715,484 of its budget to financial aid.
Olivia Tucker Scholarship Fund: the Olivia Tucker Scholarship Fund commemorates the life of a FASNY alumna, who passed away in 2006, and helps promote our School's diverse spirit by providing the FASNY experience to students who may not otherwise be able to attend. This is an Endowed Fund, which generates investment income, partially reinvested and partially spent on scholarship programs. In 2011-12, $ 3,480 investment income was generated for this purpose.
Annual Fund Financial Aid: A portion of Annual Fund gifts are allocated to the financial aid budget each year. Most schools do not fund financial aid directly through donations. Instead, they allocate a set percentage of the expected tuition revenue. Earmarking and Annual Fund gift toward the Scholarship Fund allocates the full amount of the gift toward the Financial Aid budget. In 2011-12, $ 68,428 were received for this purpose.
