Pre-School Experiences
Here is a sample of some of the Pre-School projects and celebrations.

Celebrations
Halloween: Before the Fall Break, the Halloween Parade takes place in the playground; all the children and their teachers dress up for the occasion.

Thanksgiving: FASNYPAT Volunteers (Parents Association) offer a Thanksgiving lunch to all FASNY students, faculty, and staff.

King's Day: Each year, King's day is celebrated by eating the famous "Galette des Rois."

Mardi-Gras: Students make their hats and masks with their teachers before eating delicious homemade crêpes.

Special Events
Fire Fighters: The Scarsdale Fire Fighters visit the Pre-School campus with their firetruck and explain safety and emergency procedures.

Planting Bulbs: In October, all the children plant bulbs in front of the School. They admire the beautiful flowers in the spring (daffodils, crocuses, tulips, hyacinths).

Vegetable Garden: In the spring, the children plant vegetables and then harvest them in the fall. They make soup, salads, and mashed potatoes, which they enjoy eating.|

Traveling Zoo: In May, during the traveling zoo visit, the children take pleasure in spending time with all kinds of animals.

Famous Artists: Twice a year, mothers volunteer to present two artists and their work. Children then create a piece of art inspired by what they saw and learned.

Pollock: At the beginning of the year, on a sunny day, the children create their own "Pollock" masterpiece.
